Important announcement about our weekly face to face sessions in Cefn Mawr and Trevor

By Nan Pickering

Our pilot programme in Cefn Mawr and Trevor, funded in partnership with the Canal & River Trust, comes to an end at the end of this month.

This means that our last funded Thursday session will be on Thursday, November 27, at the George Edwards Hall in Cefn Mawr.

We have been very grateful to the Canal & River Trust for funding this work. Thanks to everyone who has attended and supported our sessions, the pilot project has been extremely successful. In the longer term, we are now in the process of finalising a unique partnership with the Canal & River Trust which will officially begin in Spring/ Summer next year and will establish a flagship, pioneering legacy project at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Trevor Basin, positioning this area as a beacon of community-rooted, nature-connected health. Unfortunately, in the shorter term, we are currently without funding.

What happens next?

Our team are hard at work behind the scenes, looking for ways to continue to fund the work that we do.

We know how important Thursdays are to our community. That’s why, in a voluntary capacity, we want to try and maintain a weekly offer for as long as possible. We are offering sessions in December and early January. These are as follows:

Thursday December 4th

We have booked the Chapel Tea Rooms upstairs space in Trevor for a drop-in between 10am and 12 midday. Weather depending, there will also be the opportunity for a walk.

As a team, we are also exploring the possibility of an online offer – details will be announced as soon as possible.

Thursday, December 11th

FACE to FACE at the George Edwards Hall, Cefn Mawr, between 11am and 3pm.
Thursday December 18th

Details tbc, but plans are underway to ensure that we have an offer in Trevor on this day.

Thursday January 8th

We are also planning to offer a FACE TO FACE session on Thursday, January 8th, also at the George Edwards Hall in Cefn Mawr.
